For this project I selected the font, Military Scribe, designed by Three Island Press for the Chapter Titles. Based on the muster roles of the British Army’s 10th Regiment of Foot, the font incorporates the writing style from at least three regimental scribes and is emblematic of script used on the late 1770s documents. I thought it was a perfect choice to set the visual tone for this project.
Historical Note: The 10th Regiment of Foot is a British military unit raised more than three centuries ago, and is perhaps most famous in the U.S. for the unit's involvement in the battles of Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill during the Revolutionary War.
